Power Yoga….Unveiled!

Past 10 years have seen a dramatic increase in the number of people turning towards Yoga, practicing it and preaching it with each one having a different understanding. The most common school of thought that we come across is – POWER YOGA!!

But, what is this power?

Is it just physical strength??

Is it just doing 100 rounds of Surya Namaskar as fast as you possibly can???

NO

Yoga means to unite. Hence in its all true sense it refers to the union of body, mind, soul and indriyas. And to experience the final bliss or the actual Power of Yoga, one needs to gradually climb the ladder from the 1st class to the 8th class of what is known as “Ashtanga Yoga” viz.

  1. Yama
  2. Niyama
  3. Asana
  4. Pranayama
  5. Pratyahara
  6. Dharana
  7. Dhyana
  8. Samadhi

Remember, Yoga is not merely a physical exercise and its power extends far beyond our imagination and ability to understand.

  3. Very simplistic and logical explanation Dr Katoch..people are being mislead by the rampant use of such routines and physical exercise. Without having adequate knowledge these things are being practiced for achieving health.
